About the Position

The Part-time Child Therapist position is focused on providing clinical mental health services to children, youth and families.

  • You’ll receive lots of training, supervision and guidance across all areas impacting the position including your individual play therapy model.
  • You’ll enjoy a very simple electronic health record system with flexible documentation; no cumbersome insurance paperwork.
  • The fully stocked, extra-large playroom has a sandtray area, art supplies and all the critical components of a playroom.
  • As an employee your pay is not based on whether or not a client shows up or “billable hours.”
  • All your clients will be screened and scheduled within the time block that works for you.

 

This position

  • starts at 8-10 hours a week and has the possibility to grow into 20 hours. 
 
  • Offers competitive pay with bonuses and incremental raises within first year.
 
  • Requires the candidate has a mental  health license in Washington 
  • Has a minimum of 1 year in therapeutic work with children. 3 years preferred. 

Responsibilities:

 

Provide assessments, diagnosis, and
ongoing culturally sensitive treatment using best practices incorporating Play Therapy models to children, youth and families. 

Develop clinical treatment plans which focus on client strengths, culture, needs, and goals. Establish and maintain working relationships with other community mental health providers,
primary care, and other referral sources. Coordinate client treatment with
schools, physicians, and other community resources and referrals to community
services whenever necessary.
